Interview with Katrina

About Katrina

Like many of us in the health and wellness fields, my journey as a health coach began when I started addressing issues with my own well-being. Growing up, it took me a long time to understand that I was experiencing anxiety–there were many complicating factors and anxiety is innately a complex diagnosis. By the time I reached adulthood, I had learned to function with my anxiety, but I wasn’t quite able to really and truly thrive. I was building a career, engaged with my hobbies and creative pursuits, but anxiety and depression were still there holding me back.

Again, like many of us living with anxiety and depression, things came to a head when multiple personal crises struck at once. The death of a close family member, a serious personal illness, and a cascading series of professional issues  forced me to make some changes; upon receiving a formal diagnosis for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) I knew I had to make some changes.

It was a long journey. I experienced an array of symptoms, including: anxiety, memory loss, brain fog, poor concentration, chills, insomnia, digestive problems such as bloating, excessive gas, lack of appetite, stomach cramps, diarrhea and nausea; joint swelling, skin rash, joint stiffness, muscle pain, shortness of breath and debilitating fatigue – to the point where even washing my hair was exhausting. In addressing that complex constellation of issues, I had to in turn address various aspects of my life: diet, and the links between the foods we eat and the ways our bodies function. I explored the complexities of sleep and exercise and how they interact with everything we do. Finally, I addressed my own inner state via meditation, breath work, and building a healthy support system.

My personal journey began this facet of my professional one, and now I work hard to pass my experiences, lessons, and expertise on to my clients. In my program, we’ll explore food as a means of healing, the importance of physical activity in maintaining physical and emotional health, how to set boundaries and define goals, and how to approach self care for both your inner and outer well-being. My goal is to elevate your overall level of wellness and give you the tools to live your best possible life. I can’t wait to see you succeed!

No diagnosis should be treated as a life sentence. Never lose faith in the healing potential of your body, mind, and spirit. You are unbeatable. My healing journey taught me that I should never give up on happiness. Neither should you. Every minute of your life is precious and should not be wasted on feeling sick and hopeless.

Are you ready to commit to healing?

Who are my clients?

I work with people who have already started their journey of healing. My clients have received a diagnosis, started on medication and/or therapy, but have not achieved full remission. My program is dedicated to individuals who:

What type of personality do I work best with and what is expected of my clients?

8 Steps to Overcome Your Anxiety™ is a program for people who are absolutely excited and dead serious about getting rid of anxiety and cultivating inner peace. This means no longer  running around all day long, beating yourself up and saying: “I don’t enjoy anything about my life” or “This constant tension is killing me.” This program helps you put systems in place within a few months, which will eventually lead to the achievement of inner peace.

Being an anxiety sufferer myself, I’m known to work best with people who are committed to their success no matter what, who are super-ready to get going, and just want to know exactly what steps to take to live a peaceful life. My clients often tell me – “just tell me what to do and I’ll do it!” Consider what you’ll do with me to be a high-octane crash course on everything you need to know to manage anxiety in all situations. You will be expected to take serious and consistent action in addressing your anxiety, its root causes, and in practicing the techniques and lifestyle changes we'll explore. No excuses and no maybes, just a very different way of thinking and full support while you achieve this incredibly exciting goal: enjoying your life again!

Please know I’m very selective with who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren’t suited for my programs and won’t get the results for which they would have signed up for (it wouldn’t be fair to them). The 8 Steps to Overcome Your Anxiety™ program is NOT for:

  • Those suffering from a personality disorder and/or eating disorder

  • Individuals at the start of their recovery journey with severe symptoms

  • People experiencing financial difficulties

It’s been my experience that people in deep crisis do not trust the recommendations I give them and are better served by a program tailored to their needs. If you fall within this category, it’s absolutely OK. We’ve all been in times of crisis at one point or another and I may not be the best option for you right now.

Other types of personalities I won’t work with (without exception) are the whiner or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who constantly make excuses for not completing their assignments or challenge every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money. Is that fair?

Does this really work?

YES! The result of our work is an approach to shifting your mindset and creating a high quality, peaceful life.

How quickly can you expect results?

That depends on how quickly you can make those inner shifts. Some clients experience more peace in their life in a very short time frame, sometimes even a few weeks while others have a bit more work to do first. It also depends on how severe your anxiety was prior to starting an intervention and how long you’ve been in that state.

How can you guarantee yourself that you will get more inner peace, in record time?

Do all of your homework. Be totally committed to your success. Understand that this is a process, a proven one, that works if you take action and implement all of the steps!
